CAM Software Developer

Work for a growing company offering opportunity in the newly created position of CAM Software Developer. In this position, you will play a significant part in supporting current, new, and improved CNC machining processes. Your focus will be to develop, improve and repair manufacturing software for cutting the product surfaces. Responsibilities include administration and development of the CAD/CAM software, the post processor files, macros, and files generated by them. You will also manage the ISO/ G-code files resident on the CNC machines that work in partner with the CAM output.

You will be a valuable member of the Automation team and you will have additional involvement in other factory automation improvement projects. The CAM Software Developer/Programmer will utilize their experience and skills to develop new technologies, improve quality, increase productivity, and reduce waste.

The purpose of this position is to further the development of the company’s programming assistance tools. This is an exciting prospect for being an industry leader by creating feature recognition algorithms. This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to raise the standard for the industry and requires a self-starting, organized, creative, and detail-oriented individual with strong communication skills that will take complete ownership of the CAD/CAM processes and has the ability to effectively handle multiple projects concurrently.

Required Skills:
  • Experience with Microsoft C++, C#, Microsoft Visual Basic programming, Visual Studio.net , and WinForms.
  • Experience with Rhino 5, RhinoCAM, AlphaCAM
  • CNC equipment programming, Siemens 840D
  • Experience with 5 axis CNC milling equipment
  • Experience with databases, Microsoft SQL Server 2008 preferred
  • Working knowledge of various tool holders, cutting tools and inserts used on various machines
  • Working knowledge of use of computer software to include, but not limited to Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Work, SolidWorks and AutoCAD
