Controls Test Technician - NO TRAVEL - MN

Primary duties associated with this position will involve quality control and testing of electrical control panels produced in our control panel production facility located on the NW side of the Twin Cities.


•AAS degree or previous/equivalent job related experience in the hardware testing/UL 508A panel assembly process.
•Experience testing 480 VAC 3 phase control panels and systems.
•Experience in a related role regarding testing of electrical systems is required.
•Familiarity with a variety of hardware platforms; Rockwell Automation, Siemens, Schneider and miscellaneous control panel common components is required.
•PLC troubleshooting.
•Possess strong internal & external communication skills with a solid working knowledge of all Microsoft® Office Suite programs.

Additional duties related to this job posting consist of the following:
•Review project documentation (BOM, Schematic, Backpanel Layout, Label files, etc.) for completeness and manufacturability. •Complete testing, simulation and final inspection of control panels to prepare the panels for final software checkout as necessary.
•Preparing engineering deliverables as required for production. •Interpretation of electrical schematics to guide production personnel during the build process as needed.
•Make adjustments to components as outlined on schematics such as adjusting parameters, potentiometers, DIP switches, etc. •Load PLC programs and test PLC I/O.
•Provide feedback to engineering though redlining drawings, providing improvement suggestions, assisting with panel redesigns as necessary.
•Maintain a high quality safe testing environment by developing and complying with procedures, regulations and control plans. •Assist with final Quality Checks, packaging and shipment of equipment.
