Controls Engineer - Systems Integration - Pharmaceutical and Automotive Industries

Systems Integration firm has an immediate need for Senior Controls Engineers for Pharmaceutical, Automotive, and other types of Control Systems Integration projects in the Indianapolis, IN area.

Desired Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering 
  • Experience in Automotive, Food and Beverage, Bio-Tech, Pharmaceutical, Semiconductor, or Water/Wastewater industries is a plus.
  • 2+ years PLC/HMI programming and configuration experience is required.
  • Must have proficient knowledge and experience in industrial instrumentation and process control, including thermal monitoring equipment, flow and pressure sensing equipment, etc.
  • Must have general knowledge of industrial controls, including relay logic, etc.
  • Knowledge in power electronics, VFD's (AC/DC), and electrical machinery.
  • Field service/engineering background a plus.
  • Must be able to interface with customers and vendors and resolve comments and requested changes to internally-generated and foreign documents and drawings. (IEC knowledge a plus)
  • Must understand variable frequency drives and their applications.
  • Ability to read schematics and interpret customer specifications.
  • Strong organization and excellent time management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • CAD Software (AutoCAD and/or EPlan).
  • Experience in identifying complex problems and developing and evaluating options and implementation of solutions.
  • Knowledge of cGMP Automation requirements and techniques.
  • Must demonstrate a high commitment to quality.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks and work independently.
  • Must be adaptable to new production trends and have an aptitude for technology.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and deliver results within deadlines.
  • Must have strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Customer focused and being a team player is a must
  • Interact and interface with customers, employees from other departments, and also with teams in the field, contractors, and sometimes vendors and consultants.
  • Physical Requirements are: walk jobsites in uneven terrain, work at heights and from ladders, regularly walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • US Citizenship required
  • Ability to travel 30%
