Be a pioneer! Join a well-funded, mature start-up whose high-precision technology is revolutionizing how robots and humans interact with each other and the world. Their ultra-precise position sensing hardware and software is going to make a big impact on industrial automation.

This isn't your typical start-up! Yes, they take risks and push the envelope, but it is done in a very focused, disciplined way. This small company has a high-energy culture and high-pedigree (well-respected and accomplished) team members and board of directors.

As part of a rapid growth plan, they are looking to bring an exceptional Automation/Robotics Engineer on board!

In this position you will...
  • be a key player in integrating ground-breaking technology into industrial automation
  • work alongside highly-motivated and experienced computer, electrical, and robotics engineers
  • be challenged (by the team, leaders, advisors, board of directors, and even the innovative technology itself)
  • help ensure that new products are built with industrial automation in mind
  • receive a competitive salary, meaningful equity ownership, medical and dental benefits, and paid holidays and vacation
  • work in an office that's only a few blocks from the "Red Line"
As an Automation/Robotics Engineer, your work will involve the design, development, testing, and deployment of the company's technology within industrial automation applications. A typical day will include working with engineers on developing and testing algorithms, integrating new technologies into robotics, and collaborating with industry partners to apply those technologies to transform their businesses. This role will require you to jump in and be hands on; actively developing and implementing solutions.
Automation/Robotics Engineer Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop technologies that exploit the company's technologies in robotics and automation applications
  • Collaborate with members of the technology team to design and develop software
  • Interact with programmers (as they develop software) to help them identify and develop new software services for industrial automation
  • Provide mentoring to junior engineers on the technical team
  • Assess the performance of these new technologies, recommend and implement future design improvements, and provide expertise on design for manufacturing and standardization specifications for industrial automation
  • Work with the business development team and external partners to conceive, develop, and build new industrial automation solutions

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s in electrical or mechanical engineering or a related technical field
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in automation engineering including experience in distribution centers or on industrial lines
  • Proven track record of designing, developing, and testing methods that improve industrial automation
  • Experience in robotics including controls and state estimation (e.g., Kalman Filtering)
  • Computer programming skills in languages such as C\C++, Python, Octave, or Matlab
  • A proven track record of hands-on technology experience and the motivation to continually invent technologies
  • Strong communication skills including presenting results and recommendations both internally and to external customers
  • Ability to independently rapidly tackle challenging technical problems with minimal supervision
  • The motivation to continually improve technology and work at a fast-paced start-up
  • Experience in mechatronics, electronics, and/or simple mechanical design
