Electrical Designer

Responsibilities:
  • Drawing of electrical layouts to include Buildings, Panels, lighting, power, using various standard symbols on specific projects.
  • Expected to utilize AutoCAD to modify client drawings such as general arrangements, wiring diagrams, schematics, P&ID’s and other documentation required for upgrade type project work.
  • Familiarity with practices and procedures pertaining to technical matters to include Construction, Manufacturing, Control System Design, and Electrical Engineering.
  • Ability to read and interpret vendor information and apply that to design concepts as directed by Senior Designer or Engineering Supervision.
  • Have a commitment to meet customer requirements while maintaining quality work within a project
Qualifications:
  • ​Two-year degree in Computer Aided Drafting/ Design in electrical or equivalent degree is preferred.
Experience:
  • 3+ years of experience preferred including working knowledge of tools and parts necessary for specific projects, knowledge of uses of Auto CAD commands and how to perform tasks (Expertise using Auto CAD 2014 or higher and Auto CAD Electrical)
  • Must have working knowledge of the fundamentals of electricity, ability to apply the NFPA, NEC standards to designs as well.
  • Power Plant design experience, including field work is desirable.
  • Ability to inspect, measure and assess site conditions as they pertain to project upgrades including general arrangements, cabinet wiring, raceway systems and electrical equipment installations.
