The Staff Electrical Engineer will work as part of a team identifying requirements, developing specifications, and implementing/testing/commissioning/qualifying electrical solutions. As an Electrical Engineer you will research systems ideas and draw up plans for power and control at 480 VAC along with many other responsibilities, including instrumentation and control devices. You are responsible for reviewing specifications and developing system specifications and drawing packages. As an Electrical Engineer you will conduct factory tests as needed. In addition, you will provide support throughout the manufacturing and commissioning of the electrical systems designed.
A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience is required. Having PE license is preferred.
3+ years of experience with the following:
Must have a diverse engineering skill set with the ability to work independently. Should be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously. May act as Technical Lead or Project Manager on smaller projects ranging from $50K to $250K.
Preparation of electrical, instrumentation, and PLC control panel specifications for purchase of materials and equipment and/or the solicitations of labor.
Experience in design of electrical schematics, including power distribution 480VAC and under.
Experience in the installation, checkout, and commissioning of electrical, instruments, and control systems.
Knowledge of the NEC and associated national, state and local code requirements.
Experience in industries such as Life Sciences, Building Automation, Food and Beverage, Oil & Gas and Mining.
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills needed. Ability to communicate and work with both team members, subcontractors and clients.
Experience with PLC programming is preferred.
Experience with AutoCAD is desired.
Professional references, preferably one from each of the following: a subordinate, a peer, and a manager.
Ability to travel up to 35%.
